Get to know me

My name is Jacques, I’m married to a wonderful woman, Zanelle, and we have two gorgeous kids, JJ (2) and Olivia (almost 1). South Africa is our home, but we have been fortunate to have spent some time in the USA. We love travelling and have been exploring closer to home, discovering the beauty of Southern Africa. While the kids are toddlers we are touring the dryer, more arid regions of Southern Africa, avoiding the high Malaria risk areas. We want our children to grow up in the open, experiencing the diverse culture and traditions of Southern Africa and to have a deep-seated love for all wildlife.

I have been taking photos since I was a kid. I’ve always enjoyed the scene through the viewfinder, forever searching for those special moments, those colourful sunsets, those reflecting city lights or those playful animals. Capturing His beauty is something I take great pride in and sharing it with as many people as possible is my pleasure.

I believe photography to be like any other form of art in that you should not only see it with your eyes, but that you should also feel it when you look at it. A fellow photographer friend and I recently extended our photography hobby to include printing.
